Mr. John Egan is a Senior Project Manager and Principal Engineer with Engineering Resources of Southern California, Inc. Mr. Egan is a Registered Civil Engineer (P.E.) in the State of California and is a Qualified SWPPP Developer and Practioner (QSD/QSP) through CASQA.
Mr. Egan has over 50 years of professional civil and environmental engineering experience. As a Principal Engineer with ERSC, Mr. Egan is responsible for direction of conceptual project development, planning and design, preparation of construction documents and planning studies for a variety of public works projects. In this capacity he directs and/or supervises preparation of planning, derivation and analysis of alternatives and design efforts and is responsible for project administration, client coordination, and construction services. Mr. Egan has reviewed SWPPP documents, has prepared SWPPP’s and WQMP’s, WPCP’s for projects in Caltrans right-of-way, and multiple erosion control plans for various projects.
Work in recent years has included direction and oversight of design for construction or rehabilitation of street improvement projects, site development projects, water and wastewater projects including the design of pumping stations for a number of local and regional water districts.
Park development projects conducted under Mr. Egan’s direction include design for regional park projects involving access and circulation roads, drainage facilities, grading, and water and wastewater management. Recent projects completed or underway include planning for development of vehicular access and water/wastewater facilities for a large expansion to Mayflower Park in Riverside County, planning for vehicular access and campground uses in Bogart Park near Beaumont, and as a member of a project team undertaking master planning for Glen Helen Regional Park in San Bernardino.
Water resource projects completed under Mr. Egan’s direction include uranium water treatment plants; the three MG. Montecito Reservoir for the City of Colton; booster pumping stations; well drilling and equipping projects; and water master plans. Mr. Egan represented the firm as District Engineer for 12 water districts/companies.
Significant wastewater projects conducted under Mr. Egan’s direction include sewer system master planning; capital projects and asset inventory analysis for 10 County-operated districts; innovative Step 1 facilities planning and subsequent design; assessment proceedings and construction for sewers, wastewater treatment plants and lift stations. Mr. Egan served as project manager for the firm’s joint venture assignment as District Engineer for Crestline Sanitation District, San Bernardino County, during which time Step 1 studies and design were conducted for infiltration/inflow and sludge management, construction and/or expansions made to two lift stations, and process modifications/expansions made to two of the District’s wastewater treatment plants.
Mr. Egan attended Iowa State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, received a Master of Science in Environmental Engineer from USC, and carries an MBA from UCLA.
Mr. Egan is an active member in the American Public Works Association (APWA), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and the American Academy of Environmental Engineers.
