Valley Wide Recreation and Park District which operates the Little League Baseball Field and adjacent Swimming Pool just to the east of Diamond Valley Lake and the Western Science Center off of Searl Parkway in the City of Hemet, commissioned and built a new restroom/concession building. This building is the centerpiece of the District and was constructed in the shape of a pentagon in order to face the five surrounding ball fields. It includes an open-air observation platform with easy access via two stairways and an elevator to afford parents and visitors an elevated view of the games in progress. Downstairs contain ADA restrooms, locker rooms for the various teams and a concession area.
Engineering Resources of Southern California, Inc., (ERSC) provided structural engineering analysis, recommendations, design and details based on the approved set of restroom/concession building plans provided by STK Architecture, Inc. Building materials consist of exterior split-faced block wall (CMU) units and a standing seam metal roof with colors to match the previous construction on-site.
Construction was completed in early 2014.
