Engineer IV – Redlands, CA

Engineering Resources of Southern California, Inc. (ERSC) seeks a qualified, talented, and experienced Civil Engineering professional to join our Engineering Team as Engineer IV in Redlands, CA.

The Ideal Candidate

The Engineering team performs and directs ERSC’s design projects for local public agencies. The successful candidate will function as a senior civil engineer, executing various tasks required to deliver quality solutions to our clients. The Engineer IV will perform and supervise public works project efforts that require professional judgment while supervising a small staff of engineers and technicians.

The successful candidate will have experience and expertise in delivering CIP projects related to grading, water/wastewater, storm drain, transportation, and traffic-related improvement plans/studies.

Duties Include:

  • Design, direct the design, or coordinate the activities of engineers, designers, or others that may be assigned to a project team, making independent evaluations on routine matters, and seeking advice from project managers on other technical matters. May make modifications of standard techniques employed by ERSC.
  • Supervises and directs a design team on smaller engineering projects as an assistant to the project manager.
  • Carries out efforts to develop design alternatives selected by the project manager.
  • Supervises and mentors a small number of engineering team members.
  • Assists the project manager in the design of technical works such as process operation, drainage facilities, site improvements, and other specialties.
  • Acts as the lead designer on public works projects under the supervision of the project manager.
  • Assists in estimating staffing needs and scheduling work assignments to meet completion dates and budgets.
  • Assists in preparing proposals and agreements for services.
  • Performs all other tasks as assigned by the managing or Principal Engineers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or similar field.
  • Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the discipline.
  • Expert knowledge of applicable engineering codes, regulations, engineering practices, and construction methods in public agencies.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other job-related computer programs. Experience in Microsoft Word and Outlook is required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred.
  • Excellent grammar, math, and spelling skills.

Principal Surveyor – Redlands, CA

Engineering Resources of Southern California, Inc. (ERSC) seeks a qualified, talented, and experienced professional to join our team as Principal Surveyor in Redlands, CA.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will function as a project manager on major surveying projects or projects on which either construction, preliminary, or land surveying is a major portion. The Principal Surveyor is a licensed land surveyor or registered civil engineer who has demonstrated skills, ability, experience, or education in planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling major surveying projects. The Principal Surveyor has also exhibited an ability to successfully meet project demands and manage technical staff and client relations.

The successful candidate will have experience and expertise in delivering projects related to all forms of mapping, construction surveying, and peer review.

 

Duties Include:

  • Makes professional survey judgments on land surveying matters.
  • Develops and implements field survey procedures to ensure top-quality survey performance.
  • Reviews and administers land surveying matters within a regional office or as a corporate advisor to maintain ERSC’s high level of technical and professional performance and quality of survey work.
  • Is responsible for field surveying performance to ensure:
    • Construction surveying effectiveness, thorough methods, and timely performance.
    • Preliminary survey accuracy, reliability, and completeness as to its intended use, and that complete and professional survey information is transmitted to our regional offices or outside clients.
    • Land surveying accuracy and assurance that reasonable and acceptance boundary surveys or re-surveys are determined or retraced and that techniques and judgment are involved in producing a professional acceptance solution to land surveying problems.
  • Develops cost control systems to ensure efficient and cost-effective performance by survey crews.
  • Provides advice, consultation, and assistance to others who may act as project managers on projects assigned to or by ERSC and its clients.
  • Provides oversight and approval of peer-reviewed maps and legal documents on behalf of ERSC clients.

 

Qualifications

  • Licensed Land Surveyor or Registered Civil Engineer in the State of California.
  • Minimum 10 years of land surveying and civil engineering construction surveying experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Surveying, photogrammetry, or the equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other job-related computer programs.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred.

Project Administrator – Redlands, CA

Engineering Resources of Southern California (ERSC) is looking for a qualified and talented and experienced Project Administrator to join our municipal services team in Redlands, CA.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will work closely with Project Managers and staff to facilitate accurate project organization in compliance with the firm’s standard operating procedures. The candidate will organize and maintain the firm’s project files, including transmittals, correspondence, contracts, subconsultant information, and other related items and assist with coordinating with the Municipal Services team to ensure deadlines are met.

 

Duties Include:

  • Maintains and updates project files to ensure accurate project information is available and proper corporate records are retained.
  • Conducts transmittal, receipt, filing, and distribution of project data to and from clients.
  • Enters and maintains information in various software and databases for management of projects, budgets and resources.
  • May monitor progress and execution of plans, projects, and activities initiated by the Principal Engineer.
  • Renders assistance to project team and subconsultants as necessary.
  • Schedules staff resources to project tasks to ensure utilization goals are met.
  • Performs all other duties as required by management.
  • Various other duties as required by management.

 

Qualifications

  • High School diploma;
  • Five years or more of full-time administrative assistant work experience or equivalent part-time; AND
  • A thorough knowledge of Business English, including grammar, vocabulary and punctuation, word processing and standard office equipment.
  • Executive-level administrative skills necessary to provide a cooperative, supportive atmosphere in which to work at the executive level.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other job-related computer programs. Experience in Microsoft Word and Outlook is required; Bluebeam or Adobe PDF preferred.
