Water Resources EngineeringAbout This Project
The Big Bear City Community Services District Sewer Department operates 7 sewer lift stations within the wastewater collection system. Lift stations are placed at low points within the sewer collection system. They pump raw sewage through a pressurized force main until it reaches a higher elevation and is then discharged into a gravity manhole. By this method, pumping stations are used to move sewage though the collection system and eventually flow to the Big Bear Area Regional Wastewater (BBARWA) treatment plant.
ERSC was retained by the City of Big Bear to update the plans and specifications for Lift Stations 5 & 6 to comply with current standards and codes. The modifications included removal of dry-pit sewage pumps, gas driven generator and construction of new generator building, diesel stand-by generator, wet wells and submersible pumps.
ERSC also provided construction management throughout the project.
